Safety and Operations Manager

The Safety and Operations Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing safety protocols, operational processes, and fleet management across the organization. This pivotal role provides strategic guidance to branch operations, ensuring the effective maintenance of terminal facilities and the efficient management of the vehicle fleet—both critical to the company’s daily functions. Additionally, the Safety and Operations Manager leads the Prudent Operations program across all regions, driving a strong safety culture and optimizing operational performance throughout the company.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Management: Implement and monitor safety procedures aligned with the Suncor Prudent Operations program to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and support a strong safety culture.
  • AWE System Expertise: Act as the primary liaison for the AWE on-board truck computer system, directly interfacing with AWE and providing support to branches and the Lunenburg office for effective daily usage.
  • Fleet Oversight: Maintain an updated fleet list, document all operational costs, and provide recommendations to optimize fleet utilization. Collaborate with the General Manager on fleet replacement plans.
  • Branch Operational Support: Assist branches in the maintenance of the West Nova bulk plant and cardlock network, ensuring consistent standards across locations.
  • Carrier Relationship Management: Manage relationships with third-party carriers to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of products to bulk terminals.

 

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Support the General Manager in creating and implementing policies related to operational health and safety, procedures, and environmental standards.
  • Regulatory and Technical Awareness: Stay updated on technical advancements, delivery codes, and regulations relevant to company operations to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.

 

Ideal Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in operations and safety management, preferably within logistics or industrial settings, combined with a proven track record in fleet management and supporting branch-level operations.
  • Expertise in onboard vehicle computer systems, such as AWE, is crucial, along with the ability to effectively manage third-party carrier relationships to ensure timely, cost-efficient deliveries.
  • A deep understanding of industry-specific safety codes, regulatory standards, and environmental policies is essential for maintaining compliance and operational readiness.
  • Strong analytical skills are key to interpreting operational data, controlling costs, and delivering actionable insights for continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities are equally important, as this role requires collaboration across multiple branches to uphold a consistent culture of safety and operational excellence.

Payroll/HR Administrator

The Payroll/HR Administrator will manage the payroll process, administer benefits, and support HR functions, including employee record management and PTO tracking. You will play a key role in implementing and maintaining our new integrated HRIS and payroll system, ensuring accurate and efficient processes while driving compliance with employment standards.

Job Requirements

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees and semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, deductions, and adjustments.
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Assist in the implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance of the new HRIS and payroll system.
  • Ensure the HRIS supports electronic timesheets, PTO tracking, and employee self-service functionality.
  • Monitor and track PTO and leave balances for all employees.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, maintaining employee files, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Prepare payroll and HR-related reports for management as needed.
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll and benefits-related inquiries.
  • Stay updated on provincial and federal employment legislation affecting payroll and HR processes.

 

Ideal Qualifications

  • Motivated professional with a proven ability to deliver results and exceed goals.
  • Multiple years of successful industrial sales experience.
  • Post-secondary education in business, engineering or other relevant technical discipline or equivalent
  • Self-starter, proactive, able to build and foster relationships and provide superior customer service.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is considered a strong asset.
  • A valid driver’s license with some overnights travel within New Brunswick is required.

 

Skills Required:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll and HR administration, preferably in a similar-sized organization.
  • Proven experience with payroll systems and HRIS implementation is a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with payroll software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

LUBRICANT ACCOUNT MANAGER - new brunswick

Superline Fuels is looking for a skilled Lubricant Account Manager to join our team in New Brunswick. The primary marketer of Petro-Canada branded lubricants throughout the Maritime Provinces with a complete product lineup, allowing us to support all market segments including transportation, construction, automotive, marine, mining and manufacturing.

Job Requirements

  • Develop new leads and customer accounts through networking, cold calling, referrals, and personal connections.
  • Meet or exceed sales growth targets.
  • Create business proposals and maintain customer pricing.
  • Prepare and submit tenders and contract requests.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Acquire the necessary customer information to work within company credit policies.

Delivery Drivers and technicians

West Nova Fuels is looking for an experienced Delivery Driver to join our team of professional drivers.

This position reports to the Branch Manager/Operations Manager.

Job Requirements

  • Work with the dispatcher, to load and deliver commercial and residential petroleum products as required in a timely, safe manner.
  • Drive in a manner consistent with vehicle practices policy to ensure safety of self, pedestrians and all other road traffic.
  • Complete all necessary training to obtain all proper licensing for all duties performed, including TDG, CPPI, WHMIS, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s License.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (PTI), ensuring your vehicle is safe to drive
  • Keep accurate records of deliveries and ensure all documentation required by any government legislation or regulation is in the delivery vehicle at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly delivery vehicle on a daily basis.
  • Be cooperative and work as a team member with other staff

 

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license with Commercial Vehicle Class Rating of 3, 2, or 1, with air brake endorsement
  • Two years of delivering bulk fuel preferred
  • Clean Drivers Abstract

Oil Burner Mechanic

West Nova Fuels is looking for an experienced Oil Burner Mechanic to join our team.

  • Perform routine maintenance on oil burners, including cleaning and replacing parts as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair oil burners to ensure proper functioning
  • Conduct inspections of oil burners to identify any potential issues or hazards
  • Install new oil burners and related components, such as tanks and pipes
  • Provide customers with information and guidance on proper use and maintenance of oil burners
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in oil burner technology
  • Collaborate with other technicians and professionals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery

 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Licensed Oil Burner Heating Mechanic

  • Preference given to individuals also holding a license and/or certificate in propane

OIL BURNER ASSISTANT

West Nova Fuels is looking for an Oil Burner Assistant to join our team.

  • Assist in the routine maintenance of oil burners, including cleaning and replacing parts as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Oil Burner Mechanic in troubleshooting, inspecting, and installing oil heating systems.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
  • Cooperate with other technicians and professionals to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

 Please note: This may potentially become a dual role of Oil Burner Assistant and Oil Delivery Driver. If possible, we would look to hire an individual who can fulfill both roles.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 License with Drivers Abstract in good standing.
  • Preference given to individuals with previous oil heating and/or propane experience.
  • Preference given to individuals with a valid driver’s license with Commercial Vehicle Class Rating of 3, 2, or 1, with air brake endorsement.
